My dream house

Today I saw my dream house..It's empty, old, the garden is completely let down, the paint was coming off from the walls of the house.. It's always been a dream of mine to buy a really old, lonely house like this and make it my own (like in The Notebook). Of course I would tidy up the garden, have nice interior and so on. Obviously, I wouldn't mind too much having a very cool and modern house as an alternative. However, I think nothing could replace living in a big, old house like this.. What is your dream house/apartment like?

  5. I agree, apart from i have never seen the notbook, a house should be the home you make it into, not the home the previous owners had. x

  6. the best decorated house (actually a palace) I've ever seen is the palace of mary and frederik of denmark published in Vogue some time ago. I love the mixture of ancient and modern.

  8. I also think that this kind of house would be my dream house, but then again - it'd be so creepy, right? I mean these are the houses that people get killed in or which are haunted in all those movies :O

i guess my dream house would be a three-floor town house with a little garden.. :) like a family house but in the middle of the city!

  12. This reminds me a bit of Navron House from Frenchman’s Creek. I can’t remember the exact wording but there’s something in there where the Frenchman tells Dona that she has brought the house to life again.

Me, I’d love to have a house on its own little bit of land, the way that a lot of American and Canadian houses are. I’m not a recluse or anything like that, I’d just prefer not to be sandwiched in between loads of other houses all built in a line. Problem is, completely detached houses here tend to have a much higher house valuation, one that’s well out of my reach.

I’ll probably have to settle for semi-detached but the one thing I’m not compromising on is a power shower. I’ll probably be saving up for a while but I’m having a power shower in a proper shower cubicle. That’s about as much luxury as I’m interested in.
