Kristiana Vasarina Kristiana Vasarina Palladium boots
I don't know about you, but I absolutely love warm and comfy boots. UGGS are definitely not my thing, so I always look for something edgier, such as my Doctor Martens. A while back I received these Palladium boots which are my comfiest footwear up to date. As soon as you put them on, you just never really want to take them off again! If you decide to get them, I'd recommend sizing down as, sadly, mine are a bit too big.
As promised a while back, my printed ASOS top finally in an outfit post! I've pretty much worn it to death already. The v-neck is great too as you can unbutton it for a deeper v-neck and evening look (although some fashion tape might be necessary).
I'm glad you're all loving the first giveaway and that there is so much response! The next one will be up tomorrow, but that doesn't mean you can't enter the first one anymore, because it will run until Sunday this week!

PS. I've bought myself a new lens (35mm) and I'm selling my old one (50mm). I absolutely love it, so sharp. ♥

First blogiversary giveaway is up! Poppy Lux is a quirky brand with a great selection of dresses, tops and more. Above are some of my favorites! They are offering a £50 voucher to one lucky winner. A winner will be randomly generated on Sunday, April 6th. The options for competing are very easy, and there are options to gain extra entries as well. Good luck! ♥

So far, I've not really celebrated any blog birthdays as I usually somehow missed out on it and only realized when it was too late. However, this time it will be 5 years since I started this blog. Crazy, right? Those who follow me from the start will know that this blog underwent 3 name changes (and will be changed again sometime in the future), had WAY too many layout changes and went through different phases in terms of the content. I primarily started focusing on fashion when I moved to the UK and discovered more of the blogging scene. It's been kind of a crazy ride, and while it has been beyond difficult juggling the blog and University, it's been such a rewarding experience and I don't know what I would do or who I would be if I didn't blog. You have all been a crucial part to this journey and I wouldn't be here without you, so I wanted to give something in return! I've arranged a series of giveaways for the course of next week; 1 each day before the anniversary on the weekend. If all goes as planned, the first one should go up tomorrow. I really hope you are all excited! ♥ ♥

Seche Casually Cool nail polish After having used the famous Seche Vite Top Coat for quite a few months, I was curious to see if the other products offered by this brand were of similar quality. I went to ASOS and ended up ordering the Seche Casually Cool Nail Polish as well as the Seche Ridge Filling Base Coat, which is not included in this review. Seche review
I absolutely love the color of Casually Cool - in the bottle it actually looks shimmery but upon application you will soon notice that there is no shimmer on your nails. The application process is probably not the easiest that I've had in my experience. The nail polish dries very fast which can be a little bit difficult for application if you take your time while doing the strokes. I didn't find this problem too bad though, I simply adapted my speed and the result was great! The nail polish almost looks creamy when it's on your nails, I actually don't know how to explain it, but it definitely needs a top coat so I used, as usual, my Seche Vite Top Coat which worked its wonders.
Although the application part was a little bit annoying, the result is definitely worth it. Pastel blue is probably my favorite spring time color so it's fun to incorporate it on my nails! ♥Seche Casually Cool

Kristiana Vasarina Kristiana Vasarina Kristiana Vasarina As promised, yesterday's University outfit. I would definitely say that University life has made me very lazy when it comes to dressing up, I usually try to sleep as long as possible and then my morning consists of having breakfast, making sure I pack everything needed for that day, slapping some make-up on my face and then just reaching for a pair of jeans and a sweater that I have preferably not yet worn that week. Sad, but true! Above you can see a classic example of this, although I did cheat - curling your hair the night before means that there is no need for brushing, styling or anything at all in the morning - 5 minutes saved!
I've been dying to show you how I wear my amazing new ASOS coat, which is quite big in size but incredibly lightweight. Luckily for you it is still on sale and the price has gone down by a couple of pounds since I bought it. You can get it here. If you are in-between 2 sizes, go for the smaller one.
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen this beauty of a bag that I got sent from La Moda. It ticks all the right boxes for me - it's small but quite spacious, has multiple compartments including zips, and a gold chain which is something I absolutely love in bags.

Kristiana Vasarina Kristiana Vasarina
Today just after lunch I met my friend May for some warm food and photos. The weather was so terrible that after a few minutes we completely neglected the idea of any kind of outfit shoot. Good news though - we changed our mind, braved the rain and cold, so you can expect to see what I wore sometime soon.
I always have Wednesday's off (perfect mid-week lazy day) but I was on campus from the morning onward, because of assignments, group meetings.. I also had a phone meeting with rewardStyle, which was very helpful, and then I met May! When I got home I started making my favorite broccoli and red pepper quiche; just in case you ever wondered - using rice milk instead of cow milk in quiche makes no difference in the taste at all! The less animal byproducts, the smaller the guilt. So, I was just enjoying my quiche, everything was nice and dandy until I managed to spill my red OPI on my pink sweater. And my sweatpants. And my white pillow. And the cream carpet. I'm not quite sure how to clean it off, so after the initial shock I just continued enjoying my quiche and drinking my tea.
After writing all this, I just realized what a weird post this is. Like, why am I telling you all this. Haha. Goodnight ♥

H&M has always been one of those stores that I just wasn't sure about - I think it's only because of the fact that EVERYONE in Luxembourg shops there. Once I moved to the UK, I realized that the H&M I knew in Luxembourg was nothing compared to what it is elsewhere! In Luxembourg they only sell quite conservative things and the designer collabs rarely reach our shelves there, whereas in the UK you can get all H&M collections, all designer collaborations and more. All this has made me change my mind about the store, and now I absolutely love it - mostly the "special" pieces though!
As you probably know I had a great experience in the H&M Latvia showroom last summer, so I was really curious to see how it will be in the UK showroom. I spent the evening in the amazing and fun company of Edita, Georgina, Sandra and Emma - all super lovely ladies ♥ We watched the live streaming of the H&M Studio collection from Paris Fashion Week, took advantage of the nibbles and drinks and even got ourselves illustrated!
I would talk about the collection but because this post is almost a month late, I'm sure you all know everything about it. I'm definitely getting my hands on a pair of their knee high boots!

Meanwhile I wanted to show you some of my favorites from the H&M Conscious Exclusive collection that hits stores 10th April. As soon as I saw the press images and the campaign shots of Amber Valetta, I knew that I had fallen head over heels in love with this collection. Which are your favorite pieces? ♥

A few weeks ago I took advantage of the sale at ASOS and bought a few items, the first one being this Vero Moda printed top! It has a lovely V neckline which you can unbutton for an evening look. I've worn it already so much to Uni, so expect an outfit with this soon!
I also got this ASOS PU Detail Coat which was reduced half price. It's very light and quite a thin material for a coat, which is great for spring. The slightly oversized fit also gives room for layering.

The last thing that I got on ASOS is this Mango maxi skirt in mint, which was only £14 (originally £35). It has a lovely side split too, and I absolutely love the high waist! By the way, if you click on the link you will only see this skirt in black but if you look at the color options you'll see that the mint is selected, so don't worry as mine came in the correct color :))

I also updated my beauty shelf a bit (which is recently becoming very very full!) with some things from Amazon and Boots. The first one is the OGX Macadamia Oil Conditioner - never tried this product prior to purchasing, but so far it does what it needs to, and smells great too. I also got the Extraordinary Oil, which I've been hearing great things about. I switched up my hair routine a few months ago and now my hair has grown 10cm (give or take) since I cut it in December, and I'm always looking to try new products. In the nail polish department I got my usual Seche Vite top coat as well as the OPI Big Apple Red (recommended highly by this blogger! check it out :). The very last item I got was the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer - again, heard great reviews so I was curious to try it. I'm pretty much always on the lookout for the perfect concealer and this one was probably not it.

PS. Hope you like the design change! For ages I thought it was all a bit "too much" at the top part of my blog so I wanted to freshen it up a bit. I also love the simplicity in my blog header - I actually used the same font a couple of months back on a different blog that I was helping out on, and it kind of stuck with me ever since. You might have noticed it on my old header too, if you have a good eye :)

I've just finished my law exam and it seems that all the hard work I did during the last weeks paid off - so I feel pretty great now, even though I've still got lots of things to do. I'm also slowly trying to get back into more regular blogging, so today I wanted to show you some favorites of mine from Chi Chi (click). They are a brand that I've worked with multiple times and never disappoint with their selection of party dresses! Even though they might not be every day material (imagine going to Uni in one of these, ha) I find it quite handy to have a couple of nice and special dresses in my wardrobe for last minute closet disasters when going to a special event. You got no clue how many times I've been saved! :D Below you can also see the outfits I have done in collaboration with Chi Chi - which one's your favorite? :) I can't decide between the second and third one!

While we are on the topic of online shopping, I know that a lot of my readers are quite young or simply don't have a lot of experience with shopping online. Many are also hesitant due to safety issues or factors such as intangibility (I basically did a whole project on this in my retail degree). I'm actually one of those people who buy almost EVERYTHING online, because I don't have much time to go to town and look for stuff. Almost all of my books, beauty products, stationary and clothes come from online shopping, so I guess you could say I know a thing or two :) Therefore I thought I could give you some advice from my personal experience on how to shop online safely and get the best deals:
  • If you think an online shop looks probably is. I would personally exit the shop as soon as I think it's a little bit fishy. Bad layout, poor grammar, lack of proper shipping info all scream warning signs to me! However if you really DO want that item from this possibly dodgy shop, I would strongly suggest having a little google browse through customer reviews. I would also strongly suggest you do not even go near Asian wholesale online retailers, as I advised in this post a while back.
  • Connect your bank account with paypal. Most online shops have the option to pay by paypal, which is very convenient (you simply login to your account and confirm the transaction) and also a lot safer. Paypal specifically pride themselves in finding fraud and making your life easier.
  • When it comes to Ebay or Amazon, always look at customer ratings. Personally I have only used ebay like 3 times in my life but I'm a frequent user of Amazon - just last week I bought OPI nail polish and a hair oil from there. Amazon have their own, main shop which is always safe AND you get Free Super Saver Delivery if your order is £10 or above (£25 for Luxembourg and other countries outside UK), which is a nice bonus.
I should probably go now as I've got a Business Law tutorial to get to, but I found this animated resource for staying safe online, which explains everything nicely! ♥

Me with May (who takes a lot of my outfit photos!)
Summer memories in Latvia - feeling kind of nostalgic because it seems I won't be able to go to Latvia this summer if I get a placement!

Hey there! You might have noticed that the update lately is quite slow. As mentioned in my last post, I am incredibly busy but I will still try to keep updating my blog whenever I can. For now, I thought I might give you a bit of insight into my personal life - something I don't post here very much anymore. So these are just photos that I took from my archives or Facebook, most are recent but there are a couple that are way older.
Even though I am so incredibly busy and it seems like soon stress will get the best of me, I am incredibly happy almost every day and it feels great because I don't actually remember the last time I felt this way :) I better get back to studying for my Law exam and applying for placements but I will definitely talk to you soon! Meanwhile have this song, which I am currently addicted to ;-)

Kristiana Vasarina Kristiana Vasarina Kristiana Vasarina
It can be quite difficult to keep my blogging constant when I don't always know who to ask to take my photos, so I'm always so incredibly happy when my friend May helps me out, and so enthusiastically! Last Sunday the weather was great and we took photos of me in my new Little Mistress dress. It's actually from a brand called Paper Dolls which seems to be new at Little Mistress, and they definitely bring some amazing designs into the online store. I'm sure I've already said it here but Little Mistress is one of my favorite online stores (after ASOS, of course). While their designs might not be everyday material, I do find them very original and absolutely gorgeous.
These last few and also the few upcoming weeks are a very stressful period - lots of deadlines and a law exam this week! I do enjoy law though, I mean I REALLY enjoy it while everyone else finds it boring. Never quite expected that of myself! Nevertheless there is a lot to study so I've been hanging out at the library a lot lately... It really is difficult to balance university and blogging, which is why I envy full time bloggers!

If you feel like I may not be updating enough, be sure to check out my twitter because I have been surprisingly active there lately! xo

Clockwise from top:

Comfortable, versatile and on trend! And Karl approves. I was definitely not into this trend for ages, but recently all I can think about is finding the perfect pair of sneakers! Or two. While checking out ASOS a couple of days ago, I couldn't help but notice all the colorful sneakers they had! A few of them were even on sale, but since I made this collage the same day, some may be out of stock by now :( Nevertheless, I'm thinking of getting the light blue Thea model, from experience I know that they are perfectly comfortable and light blue is definitely my go-to color lately. Which pair's your favorite? XO

After all these colorful and happy posts I decided it's time for something darker, so I dressed up this amazing Lashes of London maxi dress with some dark accessories and make-up, aiming for a slightly vamp or gothic look. The Lashes of London Eden dress is absolutely gorgeous, with careful, black detailing on the front, an open back and a very high side split that inevitably reminds me of Angelina Jolie. I can't wait for the right occasion to wear this dress, so far it's been burning a hole in my wardrobe, but hopefully that will change soon! ♥

Surely I am not the only one who is absolutely loving the great weather lately? It definitely motivates me to take more photos for the blog, which is always a good thing :) I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to show you this amazing Chi Chi (click) dress that I got a couple of weeks ago. I decided to pair it with my Vagabond booties (here) and a faux leather jacket that I picked up at the Voucher Codes. Unfortunately it had no label or any indication of where it comes from, which is a bit annoying as I'd love to know, but I do love it a lot!
I've spent half the day feeling quite ill in bed and the second half I spent shooting some photos with May. Really love the result and excited to post them! ♥
